SKINNY MOLLY at the Blue Devils, Orleans, December 3, 2018.

An opportunity arises in early December 2018, to see Skinny Molly already seen a few years ago on the big stage of Montalivet. Change of scenery so with the more intimate setting of the Blue Devils club in Orleans, warm place held by Hervé and that I encourage you to discover. Just arrived, we find some familiar faces, and the concert begins at 9:30 pm for nearly two hours of an impeccable show where Mike Estes, the last of the Southern Rockers, (he has among others very well known Allen Collins), accompanied by Jay Jay Johnson, ex-Southern Rock Allstars and Rossington Band among others on the second guitar, will serve a real set of Southern Rock. So let's start with a "Workin 'For MCA" of superior quality, the tone is set. Follow titles from their albums, "Snakebit", "Too Much", or "Judge Parker". Well I will not do the complete show again, just say that Mike and Jay Jay are old pros and it's a real pleasure to see them on stage for the only date in France. Luke Bradshaw, impeccable on bass, also tells me that the group is preparing a new album for 2019 which six titles are already ready. We had a "Freebird" at the end of the show that everyone approved, and that pleased the public, seeing the smiles on the faces at the end of the set. I hope to see the band again in 2019. And one month after seeing Blackberry Smoke on stage, we think that it would be nice to see Mike Estes come to make an album with BBS, we would have a little more Southern guitars.
